Business Support from Brow Envy in Plymouth

Hello, I’m Mel, director of Plymouth-based company ‘Brow Envy’ which is a beauty, brow & skin specialist salon.

In 2023 I decided that I wanted to support a local charity, it had to be a charity close to my heart and connected to my business in some way. There are many charities out there that do amazing things therefore the decision on who to support was difficult, but one stood out to me which is why I chose to support The Primrose Foundation.

They are local, they are meaningful, they are close to my heart and many of my clients have used their services, therefore in July 2023, I made a one-off sizeable donation to help them to continue the great work they do.

Having previously worked in the NHS for over 10 years as a Maxillofacial nurse I know how essential a charity like The Primrose Foundation is and the benefits supporting them will bring to the breast care services at University Hospitals Plymouth.

I have reached various poignant parts in my life, but it wasn’t until I trained as a complementary therapist and treated patients who were undergoing radio and chemotherapy treatment due to a cancer diagnosis, in particular, breast cancer, that I realised I wanted to make a difference, especially, to those that had lost their nipple and areola due to specific surgeries such as breast reconstruction following a single or double mastectomy.

Therefore in 2017, I trained as a 3D medical areola tattoo expert; this gave me the incredible skills to truly make a difference. More information on this can be found here https://www.browenvyplymouth.co.uk/blog/the-cherry-on-the-top/

Once I started to offer this service, I was surprised by the volume of people that needed my help therefore it has been a privilege to know that I can help in some way to give them back a bit of themselves again or the option to go for a whole new nipple which is of their colour, size and shape of their choosing.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my decision to support The Primrose Foundation. If you are a local business wanting to make a difference, I would highly recommend looking over the foundation's website and learning all about how your support can make a big difference.
