The Primrose Plod 2024

Welcome to The Primrose Plod information, thank you for visiting our page.

The Primrose Plod is a sponsored walk arranged and coordinated by Sam Maddock who received breast cancer treatment under the Primrose Breast Care Centre and wanted to give something back to the service that looked after her and her mum, Kim.

This year would be the third year we have plodded, and we would love to see as many people as possible come along and show their support.

Please join us on Saturday 1st June for either an 18-mile walk from Princetown to Plymouth or meet us at the halfway point (The Rock Inn, Yelverton) for an 8.5-mile walk. Sponsorship is very much welcomed for either walk but not essential.

To make things simple we have the following options:

  1. Meet at Coypool Park and Ride, Plymouth at 7.15am, for departure at 7.30am. A minibus will then take everyone to Princetown. The sign-up fee for this option is £20 per person.

  2. Meet at the main car park in Princetown, Dartmoor at 7.45am, to depart at 8am. The sign-up fee for this option is £20 per person.

  3. Meet us at The Rock Inn, Yelverton at 12pm, to depart at 12.30pm. The sign-up fee for this option is £10 per person.

  4. In addition to the walk there will also be an after-party at The Full Time, Bolitho Park, Mannadon from 6.30pm, everyone is welcome, whether you plodded or not – this is a family-friendly event.

PLEASE NOTE: For those walking from Princetown to Plymouth we have allowed a 1-hour break before setting off for the next chapter of the walk.

Push It For Primrose

christian-bowen-gr74WKPtrJU-unsplash-2.jpg

‘Push it for Primrose’ is a cheeky little campaign designed to help push you that little further. We are asking local athletes or sporting enthusiasts to go that extra mile and push themselves just that little bit more in aid of The Primrose Foundation.  Or maybe you’re just starting out with exercise and could do with some motivation.

Whatever your starting point, we would love to see you turn that hobby into a challenge for charity.

‘Push it for Primrose’ is a shout out to all those running, walking, swimming, cycling, sailing and more to push themselves that little bit further; to set a new target not only for yourselves but for us too.

Set that new target and ask those around you to support you in your challenge. We are only asking for a gentle push - perhaps if you usually run 8 miles then run a further 2. If you tend to cycle 12 miles, why not make that 15 miles instead.

Plan a new route and keep it interesting - perhaps that route could be in the shape of a ‘P’ for Primrose or how about considering the number 25 as it is our 25th Anniversary.  Mix it up and keep it fun.

You could set up a JustGiving, Virgin Money or Facebook fundraising page which could then be shared with those who wish to cheer you on. Fundraising really couldn’t be simpler.

For more tips on how to maximise your fundraiser or to download our FREE fundraising material please click below.

Good luck on reaching that target.
