Moor to Sea Sportive 2024

  • Exeter Racecourse Kennford, Exeter, EX6 7XS (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Are you a keen cyclist looking to take on a new challenge in 2024 then we may have just the event for you?

The Moor to Sea Sportive gives you a great option to take on one of three routes in aid of The Primrose Foundation. This epic event has run since 2012 and it’s back for 2024.

Your route options are:

  • The Inspire (short) route is 36 miles (57 km) with approximately 2,300 ft (700 m) of ascent.

  • The Challenge (medium) distance route covers  64 miles (103 km) with approximately 5,700 ft (1,700 m) of ascent.

  • The Extreme (long) route which covers 110 miles (177 km) with around 10,000 ft (3,000 m) of ascent including gradients up to 20%.

But be warned, all three routes finish with quite a tough climb!! If the pros were racing it, it would be a ‘puncheur’s’ course for the likes of Julian Allaphillippe or Philippe Gilbert in his pomp.

There will be a chance to win a gold, silver or bronze medal based on your finishing times.

Taking part in aid of The Primrose takes three simple steps.

Step 1: Sign up and choose the route you want to ride

Step 2: Your ride Briefing documents with all the information you need to complete the ride will then be emailed to you.

Step 3: Set up your fundraising page via your chosen route (JustGiving or equivalent)

dubrovnik-croatia-poster-image-rsz.jpg

Have you ever wanted to go to Croatia and breath in the sea air and take in the beautiful landscape?? Well now is your chance with this exquisite three-day cycle along the Dalmatian coast of Croatia.

You will pedal over 300km in three days through postcard-perfect scenery with a bunch of other participates all waiting to raise some much-needed funds for their chosen charity.

We will mount your bike in the seaside city of Split and then make your way down the coast, stopping in the gorgeous Makarska, riding across the Adriatic island of Hvar and celebrating in the ancient, fortified city of Dubrovnik.

The route takes us through a dramatic canyon next to a river, on quiet roads through mountains and alongside a turquoise sea, until you will reach the royal finish line at Dubrovnik's medieval fortress.

The best part of this challenge is that you ride it all for The Primrose Foundation, maybe you could invite some friends or family to join in too? In three tough but stunning days, you can make a big impact for The Primrose Foundation, while having the experience of a lifetime and making a bunch of new friends.

If you are worried about fundraising please don't be... Cycle Croatia 2021 is an Open Challenge – this means you have the option to self-fund your participation and there is no minimum fundraising requirement.

You are, of course, more than welcome to commit to a minimum sponsorship target instead and fundraise for The Primrose Foundation.

Places are likely to go faster than ice cream at the seaside for this challenge, so please register soon to avoid disappointment.

The Dulux London Revolution

The Primrose Foundation would like to introduce The Dulux London Revolution to you. This is an incredibly unique event which you can take part in whilst supporting our awesome charity at the same time. Born as a London weekend of cycling the team at Threshold introduced a trails element in 2018 which brings cyclists, runners and walkers together to push their limits during the day and celebrate together at night.

This uplifting event offers  multiple options, you can take to the Trails on Saturday or join them on a ride over one or two days and or simply join everyone afterwards at their family friendly base-camp on the Saturday night.. This is the perfect setting for people to celebrate their achievements whilst resting in the well facilitated camp which includes bars, food and live music along with bouncy castles for the children.

Unlike other events after a high energy day you can relax and unwind in a selection of accommodation- you simply choose your level of luxury from the iconic Bell Tents, quirky Sheba Yurts or the stunning Baby Tipis, so you can hang-up your cycling/running gear and rejuvenate.

Whether you’re on two wheels or two feet, you will be offered unrivalled support along the way with training personal training plans & top tips to support you according to your range of fitness levels and abilities.

Simply register today and download our separate fundraising pack tomorrow.

Please note that when signing up for this challenge you do so via the organisation. Any additional fundraising activities are managed via The Primrose Foundation. For more help & advice on fundraising please download our fundraising pack.

Push It For Primrose

christian-bowen-gr74WKPtrJU-unsplash-2.jpg

‘Push it for Primrose’ is a cheeky little campaign designed to help push you that little further. We are asking local athletes or sporting enthusiasts to go that extra mile and push themselves just that little bit more in aid of The Primrose Foundation.  Or maybe you’re just starting out with exercise and could do with some motivation.

Whatever your starting point, we would love to see you turn that hobby into a challenge for charity.

‘Push it for Primrose’ is a shout out to all those running, walking, swimming, cycling, sailing and more to push themselves that little bit further; to set a new target not only for yourselves but for us too.

Set that new target and ask those around you to support you in your challenge. We are only asking for a gentle push - perhaps if you usually run 8 miles then run a further 2. If you tend to cycle 12 miles, why not make that 15 miles instead.

Plan a new route and keep it interesting - perhaps that route could be in the shape of a ‘P’ for Primrose or how about considering the number 25 as it is our 25th Anniversary.  Mix it up and keep it fun.

You could set up a JustGiving, Virgin Money or Facebook fundraising page which could then be shared with those who wish to cheer you on. Fundraising really couldn’t be simpler.

For more tips on how to maximise your fundraiser or to download our FREE fundraising material please click below.

Good luck on reaching that target.
