Trustee Receives British Empire Medal for Services to the Community

The entire foundation is incredibly proud and thrilled to announce that fellow Trustee, Shelley Coleman, has been recognised in this year’s New Year Honours list https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-year-honours-list-2024 (page 124).

Shelley has been awarded an Order of the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the community which include founding and chairing The Plymouth Ladies Charity Club https://plcc.org.uk/ and her contribution to The Primrose Foundation as a Trustee.

10 years ago, Shelley set herself a target to raise ten million for charity and is almost there. Shelley was instrumental in bringing our Support Us To Support You Campaign to life and had another of her wonderful lightbulb moments in April 2023 where she realised that like a bra, The Primrose Foundation supports your breast too.

It then dawned on her that in fact, many of us have several bras tucked away that have never even been worn and came up with the idea of recycling them and giving them new life. The campaign has gone on to be a huge success and has raised several thousand pounds for our charity.

Besides Shelley's many talents and hobbies she has also helped nine local breast cancer thrivers raise over £23,000 for The Primrose Foundation. To learn more about Shelley and some of her other amazing projects please click on the link below.
