Our Mission and Goals for 2025
Hello, my name is Fiona and for those that don’t know me, I have the pleasure of being the chair of Trustees of The Primrose Foundation.
Did you know that The Primrose Foundation will celebrate our 30th Anniversary in 2025? A wonderful achievement for any charity.
Whilst we share a name similar to The Primrose Breast Care Centre at University Hospitals Plymouth, we are not one entity. The Primrose Breast Care Centre is funded by the NHS, and our charity provides additional financial support.
So far, in 30 years The Primrose Foundation has raised over £1.8 million to enhance the facilities and services provided by both The Primrose Breast Care Centre & other essential services a patient may need whilst on the breast care pathway.
In the charitable sector, it is important to innovate and transform to enable growth and development 2025 will see new changes for our charity. These changes will help us to grow and enable us to be more creative and capture what matters the most and together we will make a positive change to help future breast cancer patients, their families and our local breast care service as progress isn't possible without change.
These changes will include modernising our charity into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with a new charity number. This will then give us the freedom to be more flexible and have more legal rights in the future.
We will remain as The Primrose Foundation however we will hold a new charity number and status. Our objectives will also remain the same as will our mission, which is:
The Primrose Foundation is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by breast disease, including cancer through compassionate care and empowerment.
We actively fund research, training, and state-of-the-art equipment for The Primrose Breast Care Centre and other associated care services by enabling excellence in diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes.
Together, we strive to advance early detection through health promotion, enhanced care and bring hope to our community when facing difficult times.
