2021 Round Up

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye …  I think we are all done with 2021!!

And just like that, we wave goodbye to another year; a year that for some, turned their world upside down. It was also a year that, no matter how you look at it, made us all stop, re-evaluate, and put things into perspective.

As for so many other charities, this year was a particularly difficult one for us.  We saw a massive downturn in donations and another year of uncertainty for our events.  However, we survived and are still here with fire in our bellies ready to see what 2022 has in store for us.

We knew that donating to charity wouldn’t be top of everyone’s agenda this year – but thankfully and amazingly for many it still was. They took it as an opportunity to try a new challenge and step out of their comfort zone, or a reason to bring people together.

We saw wing walkers, head shavers, marathon runners and so many more all having some fundraising fun.  We attended music festivals, quiz nights, afternoon teas, and Autumn lunches. We saw our supporters grow in strength and come together when appeals were launched.  At times it was simply wonderful to witness.

This year we funded two new part-time Nurses and a part-time Clinical Psychologist because of those that ran, walked, cycled, or swam for us. And it’s not just those that took on the challenges that made these posts possible – to every person that sponsored and encouraged their loved ones, we thank you too.

We also funded grants for staff to attending training courses and conferences as well as providing new fleeces and gilets to keep them warm.  These are the people who provide you with the outstanding care and compassion at a difficult time:  a team that will always go above and beyond to make your time at the Primrose Breast Care Centre as comforting as possible.

We met some wonderful people who held fundraising events to celebrate their anniversary or retirement.  We saw all those fabulous people who took to social media and created birthday fundraisers, online auctions, and raffles.  You have all made a huge difference and so as we wave goodbye to 2021, it feels only right to reflect, give thanks, and end this year on a positive note.

We are a small charity achieving big things and with your help, despite everything 2021 threw at us, we have been able to achieve so much.

So, from everyone here at The Primrose Foundation, thank you.  Thank you for your passion, thank you for your determination, and thank you for thinking of us – we truly do appreciate all the love, support, and donations we continue to receive.

With one event left this year in our calendar – we hope to see as many of you as possible at our Christmas Carol Service on Friday 17th December.  Full details of which can be found on our events page

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

Love
