Wear it yellow for your NHS breast care services
2020 sees the Primrose Foundation celebrate our 25th Anniversary. For those that may not know us, the Primrose Foundation is your local breast care charity working in partnership with University Hospitals Plymouth (UHP), providing the best possible care, support and a range of services to those who need breast care and treatment, including cancer care.
We had planned to celebrate this momentous occasion by holding a silver and sparkly anniversary ball on 18 April, which was to see old and new faces and showcase all the great things the foundation have achieved over the past 25 years, including donating over £1.2 million into local breast care services. However, like many large events and for all the right reasons, we’ve pressed paused on our ball , due to COVID 19.
So everyone at The Foundation thought we could still celebrate, because we all need a little colour in our lives right now don’t we? So we’d like to celebrate with you all, from the safety of our homes -virtually of course! So anyone who has been affected by breast cancer, in any way – we’d love you to join us by simply wearing something yellow for the day on the 18th April instead. Get the whole family involved and just have a little fun with it! Whether you wish to simply add a yellow accessory and go all out and dress from top to toe in yellow we would love for you to share your photographs with us. You could even hold a virtual party and invite your friends and family to partake too – perhaps use one of the apps such as Zoom, What’s App, Facebook or Skype.
To get involved, we’re asking for a small donation of just £2.25 from each person who wishes to celebrate with us – we hope that’s ok. Every penny raised goes towards the Primrose Centre and with medicine advances and technology improving all the time, our wish list for the centre is ever evolving.
So let’s keep our spirits up and have a giggle, whilst raising some valuable funds – we can’t wait to see what everyone gets up to!
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
We hope you have fun.
Best wishes
The Primrose Foundation
