The Big Bra Drop

  • The Primrose Foundation The Primrose Breast Care Centre University Hospitals Plymouth Plymouth, PL6 8DH (map)

Got a bra that doesn't fit? Drop it off to raise some kit!

In October 2022 we launched our ‘’Support Us To Support You’’ campaign which is proudly supported by M&S Plymouth. This unique campaign serves many purposes and aims to

  • Raise awareness of the many benefits of wearing the right fitted bra.

  • Highlight, how like a bra, The Primrose Foundation supports your breasts.

  • The importance of attending your mammogram.

Your bra offers a vital support role, a well-fitted bra supports your posture, confidence, and health.

Like your bra, The Primrose Foundation supports your breast too. We offer support to those that require breast care, including breast cancer care.

As you know bras, like our breasts, come in all sizes and shapes and many of us never really know if a bra is going to work for us until we have worn it for a couple of hours. How many times have you purchased a bra, worn it a few times then relegated it to the back of the drawer because it’s just not quite right? often, we suspect.

In fact, many of us even have several bras tucked away that have never even been worn, are you one of them, if so then we can make use of them by recycling them and giving them new life.

Please consider donating your new or nearly new bras to The Primrose Foundation by sending them to us or dropping them off at M&S Plymouth, 1 Cornwall Street, PL1 1DH

Please send your donations to us at the following address:

Your old bras really can help raise vital funds for The Primrose Foundation or could add support to someone else that needs them, and any bras donated to us that aren’t suitable for selling will be donated abroad or given to local homeless shelters across our catchment areas.

We would also like to encourage our local communities to purchase new post-surgery and sports bras and donate them to us so that those who have undergone recent breast surgery can buy one of these bras for a fraction of the cost.

Did you know that an average bra in the UK can cost between £15 - £29? this equates to up to an average spend of £2,700 on bras in a woman’s lifetime. Many of us could avoid unnecessary costs by either getting measured by a professional or using our bra guide which can be found here: Breast Support — The Primrose Foundation

More information about our Support Us To Support You campaign can be found here.

Thank you to everyone who has donated their pre-loved bras, we have been humbled by the volume of donations received.

Because of the success of the campaign, we now have a massive stockpile of good-quality bras and have decided to draw back many of our donation stations for the time being.

We would now like to encourage everyone to consider purchasing one or more bras from one of our pop-up shops happening in various locations throughout the year.

Please keep an eye on our social media platforms for dates and locations.

Did you know that so far this campaign has raised over £3,500 from re-selling your pre-loved bras? Did you also know that you too can sell your pre-loved bras via our eBay shop and all proceeds will go directly to The Primrose Foundation.
