Support Us To Support You

  • The Primrose Foundation The Primrose Breast Care Centre University Hospitals Plymouth Plymouth, PL6 8DH (map)

In October 2022 (breast cancer awareness month) we launched our ‘’Support Us To Support You’’ fundraising campaign which is proudly supported by M&S Plymouth. This is a unique fundraising campaign that will continue for a three-year cycle and will serve many benefits.

Our ‘’Support Us To Support You’’ campaign aims to raise awareness of the many benefits of wearing the right fitted bra, as well as the essential support role The Primrose Foundation provides your local breast care services.

Did you know that the Breast service at University Hospitals Plymouth sees around an average of 25,000 people per year, isn’t that incredible? And did you know that an average bra in the UK costs between £15 - £29? this equates to up to an average spend of £2,700 on bras in a woman’s lifetime.

On average approx. 22,000 women are seen in our screening service, at the guildhall or the mobile screening van, more than 5,000 patients are seen with lumps and bumps, more than 1,000 are seen for follow-up mammograms after cancer, and across these appointments, an average of more than 400 cancers are diagnosed every year.

Your bra offers a vital support role, a well-fitted bra supports your posture, confidence, and health.

Like your bra, The Primrose Foundation supports your breast too. We offer support to those that require breast care, including breast cancer care, so would you support us so we can continue to support you?

Imagine if 10% of those who attended a breast screening or GP referred appointment at The Primrose Breast care centre donated the cost of just one bra per year to us? That would be an average of £89,900. Imagine the support we could offer if you supported us.
