Our Latest Fundraising Projects
The Primrose Foundation are pleased to share their latest fundraising project that saw the purchasing of a new sound system in the waiting area and a new ceiling photographic lighting for all three of the ultrasound rooms in the breast care centre. These state-of-the-art LED dimmable lights are placed in the ceilings of these rooms to increase comfort levels for patients that are undergoing procedures that require laying down and looking directly at the ceiling for long periods of time.
The hope is that by adding these beautiful images to the ceiling a patient can feel more reassured and relaxed whilst giving the surroundings a less clinical feel.
In addition to the lighting the foundation have also installed a new sound system in the waiting area of the breast centre. Some patient feedback recently identified that the waiting area was very quiet and therefore gave a very clinical atmosphere. This area will now have very light and soft music flowing through and it is hoped this will help put our patients at more ease whilst waiting for their appointments.
Madeleine Matthews, fundraising coordinator said; “The Foundation exists to help improve the care of those needing treatment for breast care, including cancer. The lighting and a sound system may seem small in some ways, but they both make a huge difference in our aim to provide a relaxing atmosphere, during what can be, an unnerving time. We really just want to do as much as we can for patients walking through our doors to make the experience as stress free as it can be.”
