Local Ladies Sign up for the Strive to Thrive in 2025 Charity Challenge
Congratulations to our first Strive To Thrive in 2025 campaign participants Babs Davies and Rebecca Fitchett who on Saturday 10th May will take part in the Cornball Banger rally challenge and hopes to raise a minimum of £300 for The Primrose Foundation.
This fantastic way to fundraise is not only exciting and fun for every participant, but it also helps to raise some much-needed funds for local charities.
This year the event will start and finish at Ayre Holiday Park in St Ives and everyone involved will be given their route for the day, their list of challenges and questions to answer the night before the epic adventures begin.
When we spoke to Babs, she said this; ‘’I decided to fundraise for The Primrose Foundation after the amazing care I recently received when I was recalled back after my first routine mammogram’’.
‘’Like most people, I was extremely nervous and anxious but the whole team were kind, empathetic and put me at ease. Looking back, I think that as I’ve had several family members and work colleagues diagnosed with breast cancer in recent years it made me more aware of the possible outcomes I could face’’.
’I had to have an ultrasound, followed by a biopsy which then needed analysis, thankfully ten days later the results came back as good, but I needed to have a further biopsy done to determine if any further treatment was required. As you can imagine this was a worrying time for myself and my family but without the support from these wonderful people things could have been a lot more stressful’’.
‘’I think when you have a scare like this it makes you realise how quickly life can change therefore I am doing this challenge to not only thank all the staff in the Primrose Centre but in honour of all those going through treatment for breast cancer’’.
