Getting to Know You - Julie

Hello, I am Julie Wheeler, and I am one of the newest Trustees to the charity, having joined in August 2023.

I joined The Primrose Foundation as I wanted to be part of an amazing locally-based charity that strives to ensure the delivery of the best possible care and support are provided to patients and their families when affected by breast disease, including cancer.

I am still learning how my skills and background can benefit the charity however I'm hoping that my corporate connections and knowledge may add value, yet I am also very open to being involved and assist in whatever way I can.

So far, I have most enjoyed meeting lots of wonderful new people, both the Trustees and staff of The Primrose Foundation as well as the incredible people who work at the Primrose Breast Care Centre, and I look forward to meeting as many of our supporters in the near future as possible.

Besides being a Trustee I also work full-time as an account director, additionally, when possible, I support and like to attend Soldiers, Sailors & Airmen Families Association (SSAFA) fundraising events.

An interesting fact about me is that I once had the pleasure to abseil down the Crown Plazza in Plymouth with the Royal Marines by way of a fundraising event for the British Legion, much to my surprise as I only went to sign my daughter up for the challenge.

Like many of us, I do not get a huge amount of spare time but when possible, I do enjoy walking and sharing time with my husband John and daughter Selenna.

I look forward to seeing what the future holds and assisting in the growth of this truly wonderful local charity.
